The DAV-HDX500 is an AM/FM (143W/channel) A/V receiver with a built-in progressive-scan DVD/CD (5-disc) player capable of 480p, and 720p/1080i video up-scaling for HDTV playback capability. Sony also includes the DDTD Home Theater Speaker System which can reproduce 1000W of heart-pounding audio. This system consists of one center speaker, two (front) tower speakers, two (rear) satellite speakers, and a powerful 285W subwoofer that will simply knock your socks off.
In addition, the DAV-HDX500 offers HDMI output, XM Satellite Radio Ready, BRAVIA Theater Sync technology to control select HDMI devices, and Digital Media Port (DMP) for connectivity to your favorite digital music player (i.e. iPod).
